De’Aaron Fox ‘gets whatever shot’ he wants, and it’s promising for the Kings’ upcoming road trip

Sacramento, CA – The Sacramento Kings had an undefeated homestand led by De’Aaron Fox, who is doing any and everything he wants on the court. Sunday his Kings came from behind to beat the Detroit Pistons 137-129. Fox was sensational.

The star point guard scored 33 points on 11-of-18 shooting while dishing out 7 assists. He also had a huge play showing off his lightning-quick speed that ended with a slam. Fox’s explosive play prompted a question he’s been asked before.

Does Fox believe he’s the fastest player in the NBA?

“I use my speed when I have to,” Fox told Sideline Sources. “I feel like my pace is a lot better than it was in the past so the label doesn’t necessarily matter to me. I get whatever shot I want, honestly. If it’s mid-range or a floater. I don’t know what I shoot at the rim, but I know it’s at the top of the league, regardless of if I’m wide open or going through someone’s body. So it doesn’t really matter to me, the question comes up a lot, but for me, I honestly don’t care.”

Sunday’s 30-point performance is his fifth 30-point game of the season as he is just the seventh player in franchise history with five or more 30-point outings through the team’s first 15 games.

Although Fox was brilliant in this game, he received plenty of help from his supporting cast. Kevin Huerter was 10-of-19 from the field, scoring 24 points, and Domantas Sabonis added 15 points, 13 rebounds, and seven assists for his ninth double-double of the season.

Now the Sacramento Kings are on a six-game win streak. It’s the franchise’s first six-game winning streak since the 2004-05 NBA season. Racking up consecutive victories are always a good thing, but four out of the six games were home games.

Next week the hottest team in the Western Conference will have to keep its momentum on the road. The Kings’ first opponent is the Memphis Grizzlies, and it will be the start of a three-game road trip. The Kings hold a record of 9-6 with plans to capture their 10th victory on Tuesday.
